As previously noted, Bishop Nickless has lifted the suspension of weekend public Mass. Please note all will remain dispensed from the obligation to attend Holy Mass. Anyone who is not feeling well or are elderly and/or have underlying physical conditions are encouraged to not attend. If you are not attending Mass, please remember to “keep holy the sabbath”. You can do so by watching Mass, prayerfully reflecting on the readings, taking some extra time in prayer, etc.

An Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

In response to Unpregnant, a forthcoming HBO “comedy” about abortion, Franciscan University of Steubenville President Father Dave Pivonka, TOR, and alumna Maureen (Malloy ’92) Ferguson (Senior Fellow, The Catholic Association) wrote an opinion piece, “Hey HBO, Abortion Isn’t a Joke,”published by USA Today on September 3.
In their strongly worded commentary, Father Dave and Maureen object to Unpregnant’s use of comedy to mask “the loss of innocent life that accompanies every abortion.” They urge all to turn to prayer for the producers and actresses involved with this movie, to “do something concrete” to help mothers in difficult pregnancies, and if you have a subscription to HBO or HBO Max, to cancel it and email the chief executive of Warner Bros., Ann Sarnoff, and tell her why you are cancelling (support@hbo.com).
